At the end of October, when the leaves turn golden, a small, softly white little ghost comes out to play. His name is Little Spook. He doesn’t go “boo!”, he goes “poof!” and giggles softly: “hee-hee!” He loves lanterns, pumpkins, and warm hugs.

One Halloween night, Little Spook looks for friends to play with. He sees children in costumes: a little witch, a brave firefighter, a kitty with whiskers. “Good evening!” says Little Spook. “Want to play the light game?”
“Yes!” the children shout. “How do you play?”

“Easy!” he says. “When the pumpkin lantern lights up, we make a big smile. When it goes out, we make the silliest face!” The children laugh and try it. It lights—smile! It darkens—funny face! Little Spook makes the silliest one of all: he gets so round he looks like a puffy balloon!

Then they all go together—knock, knock—from door to door. They don’t say “I’m scared,” they say “hello and hooray!” and sing softly:
“Tick-tock, tick-tock, the party is here,
a pumpkin’s bright glow and friends so dear!”
The grown-ups give them smiles, “bravo!”, and a few treats.

When the moon climbs high, Little Spook feels sleepy. “Time for goodnight,” he whispers. The children hug him gently—yes, it works!—because Little Spook is soft like a cloud. “Goodnight, our friend!”
Little Spook gives one last “poof!” and curls up inside the warm, orange light of a pumpkin lantern.

And that’s how we learn Halloween isn’t for being afraid. It’s for making smiles, playing together, sharing kindness—and saying a sweet goodnight to the most tender little ghost in the world. 🎃👻

Dramatic expression and role play: The little ghost becomes a character in the child's hands — it speaks, frightens and laughs! Excellent practice for language development, imagination and taking on roles.

Creative expression: Every little ghost has its own unique face — funny, spooky or surprised. No two results are ever the same!

Confidence: Creating a puppet they can actually play with builds self-esteem and fills the child with great pride.

Festive atmosphere: Halloween is full of humour and imagination — and the little ghost is the perfect excuse for play, laughter and unforgettable family moments!
