One of the most beloved Halloween themes is spiders — and this craft is as much fun as it is educational!
For the base of the web, all you need is a white plate — or, even easier, a black one. Threading string or twine through the little holes around the plate is a wonderful fine motor exercise for little hands!
What You'll Need

- Scissors

- Markers or watercolours (optional)
- White or black plate
- String or twine
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1 — Prepare the plate If you choose a white plate, your little one can colour it with markers or watercolours — a dark, night-time background is perfect for the web! Then make holes around the edge of the plate as shown in the picture.
Step 2 — Weave the web Thread the string or twine in and out through the holes all the way around the plate. This is the most educational step — little hands get wonderful practice with every pass of the thread!
Step 3 — Cut out the spider Print and cut out the terrifying spider from the ready-made template. Children can colour it or leave it as it is.
Step 4 — Place the spider! Glue the spider onto its web — and the terrible resident of the web is ready!
