What You'll Need
- Printed racing car template (free download below)
- Child-safe scissors (rounded tip)
- Glue
- Markers or coloured pencils (optional)
- Toilet paper roll
- 4 bottle caps for the wheels
- One toothpick
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1 — Print the template Download and print our free racing car template.
Step 2 — Colour and decorate This is the moment every child becomes a racing car designer! Flames, stripes, stars — anything goes if you print the black and white template. Don't forget to add the car's racing number!
Step 3 — Cut out the pieces Following the template lines, carefully cut out the car and its wheels. For younger children, an adult can help with this step.
Step 4 — Assemble the car Glue all the pieces together following the guide. Leave to dry completely and then… get ready to race!
Race Time!
Set up a race track on the floor using masking tape and let the cars go! Each child can make their own car with a different number and colour. A brilliant activity for birthday parties or group play at preschool.
