Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1 — Print Print the ready-made template — for best results, use card stock rather than regular paper so your Father Christmas is more durable!
Step 2 — Cut out the pieces Let your little ones cut out the pieces and offer your help at the trickier points. The lines are generally clean and simple to cut!
Step 3 — Assemble Follow the instructions written below, beside or inside the pieces. The photo of Father Christmas will help you a great deal in gluing everything in the right place!
Step 4 — Display it! Father Christmas is ready and full of gifts for the whole family! A wonderful festive decoration made by the children themselves!
Educational Benefits
Fine motor skills: Cutting and gluing exercise the small muscles of the hands — excellent preparation for writing.
Following instructions and comprehension: Following the written instructions on the pieces introduces children to the use of written directions — an important cognitive skill.
Spatial awareness: Correctly placing and assembling the pieces develops an understanding of space and the relationships between objects.
Patience and perseverance: Building step by step teaches children to see a task through to completion — and the satisfaction at the end is immense!
Confidence: Successfully completing a more complex construction builds self-esteem and fills our little ones with a great sense of pride!
