Materials

• Craft sticks
• Tempera paints in different shades of green and any other colors the child prefers
• A small star you can print (available in many of our site's Christmas crafts)
• Scissors
• Glue
• Pom poms or buttons, or any other decorative materials the child likes
• A small ribbon to hang the ornament on the Christmas tree

Instructions

Set out the tempera paints and let your little one choose the colors they want.
While the child is choosing, cut the craft sticks into different lengths (from small to large).
Encourage the child to paint them.

Use one craft stick as the trunk and help your child glue the cut sticks onto it, starting from the smallest at the top and moving down to the largest, leaving small gaps in between.

Next, your little one can glue pom poms, buttons, or any decorative materials they like onto the little tree.
Finally, add a star at the top and glue a ribbon on the back so it can hang.

Your new ornament is ready!
